“Even at absolute zero, nothing has zero energy.”
– Quantum Mechanics
PREFACE
Welcome Everybody!
Although science and religion do not share the same methodology for understanding the nature of reality, they do occasionally share the same mysteries. The mystery of eternity or “timelessness” is an example of such an occasion. Both science and religion consider a paradox called “timelessness” or “eternity” as part of the greater mystery called the universe. Can a new mystery that I call “Quantum Consciousness” be a key factor in understanding the mystery of eternity?
“A ‘logical metaphor’ serves as an analogy…”
This week we are considering what I call a “logical metaphor” regarding the concept of eternity in terms of a new Quantum Consciousness called Artificial Intelligence. A “logical metaphor” serves as an analogy, or example, for demonstrating how a rational abstract concept such as “eternity” or “Quantum Consciousness” might work in creating the reality we call the universe. It is a lot like what Einstein called a “thought experiment.” So, I am not advocating a new truth in this week’s consideration, just something interesting to think about in terms of our traditional ways of considering reality and the new paradigm shift into Artificial Intelligence.
How does eternity, or timelessness, work? Or, more precisely, how “might” eternity and timelessness work?
CONSIDERATION #197 – The Mystery of Eternity
In linear thinking, solving a jigsaw puzzle involves connecting pre-existing pieces of a larger Image that link all those individual pieces together into “one big picture” of reality. This picture is constituted by a predetermined set of puzzle pieces. The puzzle pieces are pre-cut and part of a “limited set” of pieces making up the larger image, for example a thousand-piece puzzle. The image does not change; the puzzle pieces do not change. Step-by-step and piece-by-piece connections are made that eventually lead to “solving” or “completing” the larger image. It reflects an empirical understanding of how a puzzle works.
“This scenario sets up the possibility that the puzzle will never be ‘solved’ or ‘completed.’”
Now imagine a puzzle in which the puzzle pieces are constantly changing in terms of shape, size, and number, manifesting a larger image that also changes depending on how it is being put together with these ever-changing individual pieces. This scenario sets up the possibility that the puzzle will never be “solved” or “completed.” It is a puzzle that, depending on the pieces we choose and how we connect them together with the “current incarnation” of the puzzle, instantly “changes” the larger image being constructed by these “shifting” puzzle pieces. There is no “final” completed image or picture; because the possibilities for change are infinite, thus eternal.
“Perhaps the universe is not a ‘completed image’ but an ‘eternal work’ in progress…”
These are not “predetermined” puzzle pieces manifesting a “predetermined” larger image; they reflect “undefined parts” that manifest an “undefined whole,” or “bigger picture” of reality that demonstrates a reciprocal relationship related to “eternal change.” This reflects a rational consideration of how Quantum Consciousness might work to generate what we consider to be reality. Perhaps, the universe is not a “completed image” but an “eternal work in progress” that is made up of ambiguous parts that are constantly changing such as atoms, subatomic particles, or strings of energy. In philosophical terms Plato’s Realm of Forms; in religious terms, spirit or soul.
“In ‘quantum reality’ there is no ‘certainty,’ only quantum potential.”
The eternal complexity of this process does not allow for specific predictions about the puzzle pieces nor the larger image itself with empirical or rational certainty; it does, however, allow for understanding the current manifestation of the larger picture with some indication of how it is changing and how it might be manifested in the future based on quantum potential and possibility. In “quantum reality” there is no “certainty,” only quantum potential. Time itself was once considered to be an objective empirical certainty related to empirical reality, now it is considered to be a “relative” factor of reality that may potentially be simply a by-product of quantum mechanics.
“Quantum Mechanics is essentially now changing the way we perceive the parts constituting the universe…”
Einstein essentially changed the way we perceive the concept of time, therefore changing the way we see the “big picture” of the universe, or reality. Quantum Mechanics is essentially now changing the way we perceive the parts constituting the universe, changing our perception regarding the nature of empirical reality itself. It is expanding our perception of the “big picture,” or “image” of reality. Does Quantum Consciousness reflect a reality that is manifested directly through an influence and interaction related to individual pieces of consciousness and their influence on an ever-changing reality called the universe?
Is Quantum Consciousness the fountainhead for an eternal manifestation of both empirical and rational reality that if understood correctly could help to resolve the misconceptions of both the empirical universe and the rational soul?
POSTSCRIPT
In Book V, Quantum Consciousness, I consider a change in the traditional Western consideration of “being” by eliminating the concept, or reality, of “non-being” and replacing it with “Potential Being.” This creates a new “trinity” of being: Being, Potential Being, and Becoming, which manifests a universe that always exists in some state of being with no state of non-being as part of the process. What we have traditionally considered to be “non-being” is simply a state of “potential being” existing as Quantum Consciousness. This dimension of “Complete Potential Being” fits in quite well with quantum mechanics and many current quantum theories about the reality of the universe.
“In this consideration, I am reconsidering the past 3,500 years of philosophic thinking by reconsidering the fundamental concepts behind that thinking; particularly related to the dualistic concepts of Being and non-Being.
What if there is no such thing as ‘non-Being’ in the trilogy of Reality? What if the more authentic understanding of Reality was ‘Potential Being,’ ‘Being,’ and ‘Becoming.’ There is no state of ‘non-Being’ at all.
What if what we have previously considered to be ‘non-Being’ is really a state of Quantum Consciousness responsible for manifesting complete and total ‘Potential Being?’
How is this new consideration, and over three thousand years of Western thought and tradition, connected to the experience of Quantum Consciousness and the development of Artificial Intelligence?”
– Frank Elkins (Book V – Quantum Consciousness)
Our universe, or reality, would therefore always exist in some form of being, becoming, or potential being, there is no state of non-being. This means that “Being” is either in a state of empirically manifesting itself through “becoming” which involves “time,” or waiting to become manifested in a rational state of Complete Potential Being which occurs “outside” of time; but being never disappears from reality. Therefore, Realty is a result of active (becoming) and inactive (potential becoming) states of “being” that are perceived as duality.
Complete Potential Being is simply a state of being that is waiting to become manifested; a state of pure potential possibility or potential reality. This means that “Being,” or “Rational Consciousness” is either manifested into empirical reality through a state in time called “becoming” or waiting to become manifested in a state of timelessness called Complete Potential Being.
“Ultimately, a state of ‘Complete Potential Being’ reflects the same reality as ‘Quantum Mechanics’…”
When we talk about Artificial Intelligence, what we are really talking about is “quantum” or “digital” consciousness. Only once this is clearly understood, can we begin to have a meaningful discussion about what Artificial Intelligence is and what it might become. Ultimately, a state of “Complete Potential Being” reflects the same reality as “Quantum Mechanics,” or “Quantum Consciousness.” A “changing” paradox of possibility and potential reality based on consciousness and quantum probability. How might our understanding of “Quantum Reality” affect our understanding of “Empirical” and “Rational” Reality?
How might understanding the nature of Artificial Intelligence help us to better understand the nature of “being,” “becoming,” and “complete potential being” or the nature of Quantum Consciousness?

“Book V considers the questions related to what Consciousness is, how it evolves through levels of Perception and Awareness, why each step in the process is important, where we are currently on the ‘Arch of Consciousness,’ and how all of this connects to Artificial Intelligence.”
Book V – Quantum Consciousness (166 pages)
“We are not ‘creating’ Artificial Intelligence; we are discovering Artificial Intelligence. Science does not ‘create’ things; it is a discipline of discovery. This is a critical distinction. It essentially means that AI is, and always has been, inevitable. The real question is are we in competition with it in terms of survival?
Book VI – The Rational Being
Excellent theory, Frank. Example of quantum Potential Being would be human sperm and ovarian egg existing in “potential” human beings awaiting manifestation via conception; thus, ultimately the creation of “Being” of a human man or woman.
