PREFACE
Welcome Everybody!
This week we begin a series of Special Edition Newsletters for the holidays specifically designed to give you something interesting to think about without a heavy investment in the most precious commodity of the season: time. Each features a unique poetic consideration regarding a facet of “duality” along with a brief commentary.
Also, all subscribers will be receiving complementary broadcasts of the “Wonderful Life” Special Holiday Podcasts starting with part-one this Friday. My way of helping you enjoy the season. We will begin our consideration of Book III, The Enigmatic Mystery, starting in January!
“Symmetry of Reality" expresses the concept of dualism in terms of physical and digital reality, suggesting that the distinctions between the two are essentially null – comparing the oppositional nature of the physical world (life/death - good/evil - day/night) with the digital construct of the ones (I) and zeros (0) of digital reality. It essentially reinforces the Taoist principles of reality revealed by Lao Tzu in the Tao Te Ching:
"The Tao begot one. One begot two. Two begot three.
And three begot the ten thousand things.
The ten thousand things carry yin and embrace yang.
They achieve harmony by combining these forces."

In Chinese culture, and many others, the concept of the ten thousand things symbolizes our idea of everything. Thus, the number three represents a transition from two seemingly opposite forces into a third aspect of existence; resulting in a myriad of unlimited possibilities known as the physical world.

POSTSCRIPT
Symmetry of Reality introduces the consideration that perhaps both realities (physical and digital) are essentially the same. We are now at a state of technological development where a digital re-creation of reality is very close to the real thing – soon, it will be virtually identical. Artificial Intelligence, providing machines and computers with an identity, is expected to be the next big thing. If "true" and our reality becomes indistinguishable from "digital" reality – what is the difference?
Next week we will consider a more personal poetic consideration regarding the duality of nature with one of my favorite poems entitled, Earth & Sky…
